Giving back and playing an active role in making our community better is a BIG part of our identity. “Work Hard, Play Hard”, which represents giving back, is part of the Veritas Culture Code! We aren’t alone. Tony Robbin’s breaks down areas of life into 7 categories that must be mastered in order to achieve true fulfillment. He refers to this as the Pyramid of Mastery and the top area is “Contribution and Spirituality”. Even Tony believes that giving back and serving others should be ingrained into our lives.
At Veritas, we are especially passionate about organizations that serve children and education. We believe that helping these organizations will impact children’s lives and will help them grow into productive adults.
As we head into the holiday season, we wanted to share several things that we have done throughout this year to bring awareness to these organizations and inspire others to get involved in giving back.
YMCA Angel Tree Toy Drive
We have been supporting this program for 6 years now! Our employees "adopt" kids and purchase holiday gifts for the children based on a list that they have provided. The YMCA has global reach and local impact. The gifts we purchase go to children in our local community. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that the gifts will give the children a reason to smile during the holiday season! For more information, visit https://fcymca.org/angel-tree/.
YMCA Operation Backpack
This is our 4th year supporting the program. This is another YMCA program that we are involved in. In early August each year, our employees purchase backpacks for children in need as they gear up for a new school year. We also go on-site to help stuff additional backpacks with school supplies. Autism Speaks
This year, we found out that one of our clients supports the Autism Speaks Fun Run in late April. We immediately researched the mission of the program and agreed to become one of the sponsors. Autism speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. It was a great way to support a wonderful organization, our clients and get exercise! For more information, visit https://www.autismspeaks.org/.
We are grateful for a lot of thing this year - our clients, our people, camaraderie that we have in our team, and our partners. Our measure of success always includes how well did we contribute to our community. We will continue to invest and serve communities where we live, work and play.
We are constantly looking for opportunities to make a difference and sharing our time, talents and treasures – during the holidays and throughout the year. Let us know if you have an organization or charity that we can consider serving in the next year. Send us a note at info@veritasts.com and we will thoughtfully consider all the suggestions sent in.
